Capt. Rohit Bhatia Master Mariner MSc MNI - Managing Director

Captain Bhatia is the founding director of Wade Maritime. He is a well-known maritime transportation industry expert with over 25 years of experience including administration, maritime business development and operational risk management. He has in-depth technical, commercial and operational management expertise gained by serving at sea for 15 years and later on ashore in maritime management consulting field. His work ashore has included working as a Risk Management & Loss Prevention Consultant, Maritime Business Advisor, Expert speaker and Director of a leading maritime management consulting firm. As a specialist in shipping operations, business strategy & maritime economics he has over the past decade worked on numerous projects on operational risk management, loss prevention, benchmarking, strategic investment advice and regulatory compliance for leading ship owners, Oil majors, Ports and PE firms. He is a well-known expert speaker on both technical and commercial shipping operations and is regularly invited to speak on advanced training programs and seminars across the world.

 

Capt. Bhatia holds an MSc in International Shipping from University of Plymouth, UK, a Master Mariner (FG) Certificate of Competency from the UK DOT and is an ISO 9001 QMS Lead Auditor.

 

Mr. Jeffrey Blum - Associate Consultant

Jeffrey Blum has been involved in shipping and trading since 1972. He is the fourth generation of a shipping family, has been a member of the Baltic Exchange since 1976 and has worked with a Lloyd's underwriter and as a shipbroker, charterer, ship owner, ship operator, gasoil futures broker and commodities trader in London and abroad.

 

Jeffrey is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, is a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and has been an arbitrator (both sole and tribunal) and expert witness on many cases since 1983. In addition, he has been on the Council of the International Commodity and Shipping Arbitration Service (ICSAS) since its inception in 2005.

 

Mr. Joy Thattil - Maritime Lawyer

Graduated from Government Law College, Ernakulam . Enrolled as a lawyer in The High Court of Kerala in the year 1996 . Started a firm under the name and style M/s Joy Thattil & Co, which included professionals from other disciplines consisting of Company Secretary, Chartered Accountant, and Rtd. Registrar of Companies. Have been handling Tax, Constitutional, Shipping, Company matters, Civil, Criminal and service matters before the High Court, and other Courts. The firm has started an office in Mumbai in 2005. He is also a Partner in Callidus Corporate and Maritime Consultancy (CCMC), Dubai.

Had his Specialization in Maritime Law in the University of Southampton, UK. As a maritime Lawyer he had the opportunity to conduct several cases throughout India and abroad. Appointed as a Notary by the Government of India. He had opportunity to travel across the world and present papers on International Maritime Law, including US, Canada &UK .

 

Mr. Peter Bingham - Ports and Transportation Consultant

Peter Bingham has a lifetime's experience in ports and maritime transport and in the development of projects, having worked in international shipping, ports, transport and logistics since finishing his 5 year commission in the Royal Navy.  He has been a consultant since 1986, specialising in the practical, operational, economic and commercial aspects of transport-related projects in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.  His work incorporates an understanding of port operations and management, together with sea, land and inter-modal transport and handling systems, and their incorporation into efficient and cost-effective operations. 

 

He has worked on port privatisation and commercialisation projects in the UK, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and in Iraq.  His earlier career included periods as managing director of dry cargo operations (commodity management and quality/quantity control) and international freight forwarding in the UK for a multi-national inspection business, as general manager in the UK for US ship owners, as an active ship-broking member of the Baltic Exchange in London, and as a commissioned officer in the Royal Navy.

 

Ms. Poonam Bharadwaj - Consultant

Poonam Bharadwaj is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of business strategy, development & management.
